The Mint Museum

The Wachovia Championship, One Of The PGA'S Premier Tournaments
One of the PGA's top tournaments, the Wachovia Championship puts Charlotte in the national eye and has raised over 5.6 million dollars for charity since its inception. In 2007, Tiger Woods walked away with the gold, and Steve Stricker was runner-up. Tickets will be available in mid-November. A shuttle transports visitors from specified parking lots to the Club.

Big-time college football descends on the Queen City again this December as teams from two rival conferences, the Big East and the ACC, square off in this pre-New Years matchup. In the 2006 edition, Boston College nudged just past Navy (who accepted an at-large invitation to play in the game) by a score of 25-24, making the ACC a 4-1 in the Charlotte showdown.
